Tagging

A folksonomy is a system of classification derived from the practice and method of collaboratively creating and managing tags to annotate and categorize content. Tags are simply keywords used to provide organization to online materials.

Share to Group

Diigo groups allow folks in the group to pool links into a common area. Also, when annotations are done on a website, they can be shared to the group also. If you have any need for team-based research, be it a class, a club, an interest group, or a work group, a Diigo group is ideal for you. A Diigo group can be public, private or semi-private.

Annotating

Instead of just bookmarking, Diigo allows you to highlight text and attach sticky notes to specific parts of web pages. Diigo highlights and sticky notes are persistent in the sense that whenever you return to the original web page, you will see your highlights and sticky notes superimposed on the original page, just what you would expect if you highlighted or wrote on a book!

Features:

  • Highlight in multiple colors.
  • 2 kinds of Sticky notes: tied to a highlight or freely positioned & resizable as a floating note.
  • Great as a personal reminder, or interact directly on the web in threaded discussion.
  • Privacy control: private, public, or shared with a group.
