What You Need to Bring:

Come with 10 good questions for formative assessment of one unit.

Session Description

Users of Wikipedia describe formative assessment as a verb, a process, something that happens during the learning, and an integral part of the learning, and in a variety of ways. During this session, we will dig deeper into formative assessment and how technology can be used to implement it by investigating several web sites on the topic. We will participate in the process of formative assessment ourselves during the session to better understand the student's experience. You will want to prepare for this session by developing 10 good questions that can be used as formative assessment within a unit. We will plan to implement these questions using technology tools such as Poll Everywhere, Quizzlet, Wall Wisher, Google Forms, and Discovery Education's Teacher Center. You will then select four of your best technology enhanced formative assessments and post them on your Tech Summit wikispace as the summative assessment for this session.
